TAKE A STAND (PART 1)

Dear Friends, I am really sorry for my recent absence from the blog. I say this because I was beginning to enjoy writing, and was equally encouraged by the responses of many of you. As a matter of fact, my writing skills abandoned for many years, in pursuit banking and other careers was again burgeoning. When I posted the blog on 360° Life, I thought I had got my schedules balanced and could continue writing on a regular basis whilst taking care of other issues of human existence….

You’d probably remember my blog on “What’s Your Dream?” (You can refresh @ the archives). “Take A Stand”, may probably sound alike, except that we are going on a slightly different tangent. When you take a stand, you are making known your view, opinion, or what side of the divide you belong in an argument or issue. However, I do not believe in taking a stand just for the sake of it. I am of the view that beyond making our voice known on an issue, we should go further to take an affirmative action to actualize what we believe or want. You might say it is easier said than done. But if you agree with a simple understanding of Newton’s Law of Motion that every object is at a point of rest until a force greater than or equal is applied to it, then you will appreciate the need for affirmative action. When at the beginning of this year, Nigerians woke up to a dubious new year present of increase in fuel prices, a force called “Occupy Nigeria” was mobilized and at the end of the day there was at least a compromise, in that the increase did not go as far as initially announced; with some other palliatives thrown in.

I am looking forward to such force applied to other areas of national discuss and growth. Let me make some suggestions. If we believe politicians are inept and stealing money, let us mobilize forces that will either impeach the impeachable ones, or make sure they don’t win elections again; or stop the appointment of those chosen by the executive to run various ministries and departments. Also of importance, let those who believe they have the answer make themselves available for public office. (Don’t tell me politics has been hijacked; take a lesson from President Obama!) If we believe that fashion today is tending towards half naked and half dressed (in some of the so called advanced societies, Nudists have taken their cause to the parliament!), perhaps we can open a cloth line that promotes the ideal we desire, and yet attractive. If we believe that music and accompanying videos have become lyrical and visual pornography, what options are we offering?

My friend, who challenged me to take a stand on my blog, has made known his stand to revolutionize supermarket shopping experience and has taken affirmative action towards the realization. He has quit his job in Nigeria’s foremost bank, acquired a long lease on a high street property, and is busy remodelling it to suit the type of supermarket offering he is proposing!...... (Look out for Take A Stand (Part 2).

When all is said, you require a relationship with God to take a stand and succeed in the affirmative action to realize it. To find out more about God and how you can have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, visit any Bible believing church near you, or: CHAPEL OF DESTINY RESTORATION CHURCH, 2 Akinlabi Lane, off Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, by Round About Bus Stop, Ikeja. Lagos. I would be preaching a message, “Walking In Divine Counsel”, tomorrow @ 9 am, and would personally welcome you!

NOVEMBER MONTH!

Friends, a belated welcome to the month of November. No matter what part of the earth you reside in, or whatever natural and human induced challenges you are going through, it sure feels good to be alive. This is why the sanctity of life must be cherished and preserved by all. Having said that, in this eleventh month of the year, may all your pending transactions, hopes and aspirations, receive a speedy accomplishment through divine favour.
