Postscript

Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

God, more than earthly manufacturers, created a perfect mankind; and like every manufacturer, He gave the Bible as the manual. As we brush our teeth and eat every day, so much do we need to look into that manual for daily living and thereby prevent a malfunction inherent in seeking our many devices.

These verses and the accompanying nuggets are meant to start you out every day. But you need a personal relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. It will help to contact a Bible believing church near you.

TAKING TERRITORIES! – PART 1– INTRODUCTION! (THANKSGIVING!..)

God created man and gave him dominion. As recorded in Gen 1:28 “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” (KJV). Deriving from this Scripture is the concept of dominion mandate which God has granted to us. Dominion speaks of territory –an area of land under the jurisdiction of a ruler or state” This dictionary definition proffers such similar words as region, enclave, country, dependency and colony.

It is important to note that territory extends in application beyond a geographical or physical location to include spiritual sphere of influence. Notwithstanding, we must first see the territory before we can dominate it. In Gen. 13:14-15, God tells Abram that He will give him all the land he can see, and that it will be his forever – “And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: "Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are — northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever” (NKJV).

The commandment of God to Abram can be both literal and symbolic. Geographically, it symbolizes the extent of the land that God is promising to Abram. Spiritually, it is a call to vision and faith, encouraging Abram to see beyond his current circumstances. This promise is later reiterated in Gen. 15:18-21, where God specifies the boundaries of the land. God’s prophetic word for us this year is DOMINION. And we can only exercise dominion over territories we can envision. Furthermore, we must be ready to contend for the territory (Deut. 2:24, 1 Cor. 16:9). Also, for anyone who thinks they have got all the territory they need, God is saying there is yet much land to take (Josh. 13:1-6).

The theme of our four-part series for the month of February is “Taking Territories!”. Beginning with a note of thanksgiving, we are believing God for a revelation of territories to take and the grace to dominate for the Kingdom, no matter the obstacles. Join us this and every Sunday, on-line or in person, as we explore the theme.
