WORD DIARY: FRIDAY OCTOBER 31, 2014





Psalms 126:1-2a When the Lord brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed.  Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.

Psalms 126: 2b-3 Then it was said among the nations, "The Lord has done great things for them." The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.

Psalms 126:5-6 Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.

Isaiah  26:1 In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; God makes salvation its walls and ramparts.

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 29, 2014




Psalms 124:7-8 We have escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalms 125:1-2 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.

Psalms 125:4-5 Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart. But those who turn to crooked ways the Lord will banish with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.

WORD DIARY: TUESDAY OCTOBER 28, 2014




Psalms 123:1-2 I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy.

Psalms 123:3-4 Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt.  We have endured much ridicule from the proud, much contempt from the arrogant.

Psalms 124:1-5 If the Lord had not been on our side — let Israel say —  if the Lord had not been on our side when men attacked us, when their anger flared against us, they would have swallowed us alive;  the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away.

Psalms 121:1-2 I lift up my eyes to the hills — where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalms 121:3-6 He will not let your foot slip — he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you — the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
