#Praise the Lord!..

Jer. 20: 10 I hear many whispering, “Terror on every side! Denounce him! Let’s denounce him!” All my friends are waiting for me to slip, saying, “Perhaps he will be deceived; then we will prevail over him and take our revenge on him.”

#Beware of deception!

Jer. 20: 11-12 But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten. Lord Almighty, you who examine the righteous and probe the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have committed my cause.

#Desire divine protection!

Jer. 20: 13 Sing to the Lord! Give praise to the Lord! He rescues the life of the needy     from the hands of the wicked.

#Praise the Lord!

Jer. 20: 14-16 Cursed be the day I was born! May the day my mother bore me not be blessed! Cursed be the man who brought my father the news, who made him very glad, saying, “A child is born to you—a son!” May that man be like the towns the Lord overthrew without pity. May he hear wailing in the morning, a battle cry at noon.

#Beware of lies!..

Jer. 20: 1-2 When the priest Pashhur son of Immer, the official in charge of the temple of the Lord, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things, he had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put in the stocks at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the Lord’s temple.

#Declare the truth!

Jer. 20: 3-4 The next day, when Pashhur released him from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him, “The Lord’s name for you is not Pashhur, but Terror on Every Side. For this is what the Lord says: ‘I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; with your own eyes you will see them fall by the sword of their enemies. I will give all Judah into the hands of the king of Babylon, who will carry them away to Babylon or put them to the sword.

#Beware of terror!

Jer. 20: 5-6 I will deliver all the wealth of this city into the hands of their enemies—all its products, all its valuables and all the treasures of the kings of Judah. They will take it away as plunder and carry it off to Babylon. And you, Pashhur, and all who live in your house will go into exile to Babylon. There you will die and be buried, you and all your friends to whom you have prophesied lies.’”

#Beware of lies!

Jer. 20: 7-9 You deceived me, Lord, and I was deceived; you overpowered me and prevailed. I am ridiculed all day long; everyone mocks me. Whenever I speak, I cry out     proclaiming violence and destruction. So the word of the Lord has brought me insult and reproach all day long. But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.

Let us pray: Father God, we receive the grace to declare your word in the name of Jesus

WORD DIARY: MONDAY SEPTEMBER 21, 2026

 

#No more idolatry!..

Jer. 19:  8-9 I will devastate this city and make it an object of horror and scorn; all who pass by will be appalled and will scoff because of all its wounds. I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another’s flesh because their enemies will press the siege so hard against them to destroy them.’

#Cry for mercy!

Jer. 19: 10-11 “Then break the jar while those who go with you are watching, and say to them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I will smash this nation and this city just as this potter’s jar is smashed and cannot be repaired. They will bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room.

#No more deaths!

Jer. 19: 12-13 This is what I will do to this place and to those who live here, declares the Lord. I will make this city like Topheth. The houses in Jerusalem and those of the kings of Judah will be defiled like this place, Topheth—all the houses where they burned incense on the roofs to all the starry hosts and poured out drink offerings to other gods.’”

No more idolatry!

Jer. 19: 14-15 Jeremiah then returned from Topheth, where the Lord had sent him to prophesy, and stood in the court of the Lord’s temple and said to all the people, “This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘Listen! I am going to bring on this city and all the villages around it every disaster I pronounced against them, because they were stiff-necked and would not listen to my words.’”

Let us pray: Father God, we receive the grace for a repentant heart in the name of Jesus

#Desire God’s counsel!..

Jer. 19: 1-2 This is what the Lord says: “Go and buy a clay jar from a potter. Take along some of the elders of the people and of the priests and go out to the Valley of Ben Hinnom, near the entrance of the Potsherd Gate. There proclaim the words I tell you

#Declare God’s counsel!

Jer. 19: 3 And say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, you kings of Judah and people of Jerusalem. This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Listen! I am going to bring a disaster on this place that will make the ears of everyone who hears of it tingle.

#Desire God’s counsel!

Jer. 19: 4-6 For they have forsaken me and made this a place of foreign gods; they have burned incense in it to gods that neither they nor their ancestors nor the kings of Judah ever knew, and they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent. They have built the high places of Baal to burn their children in the fire as offerings to Baal—something I did not command or mention, nor did it enter my mind. So beware, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when people will no longer call this place Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.

#Desire God’s standards!

Jer. 19: 7 “‘In this place I will ruin the plans of Judah and Jerusalem. I will make them fall by the sword before their enemies, at the hands of those who want to kill them, and I will give their carcasses as food to the birds and the wild animals.

Let us pray: Father God, may our plans be acceptable unto you in the name of Jesus

ACTIVATING DIVINE PROTECTION! – PART 3 – THE ASSURANCE OF DIVINE PRESENCE AND DELIVERANCE!..

 

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” — Psalm 91:1

Psalm 127:1 cautions against self-help, - "Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain."  In a world where uncertainty, danger, fear, insecurity, and unexpected challenges abound, the temptation to rely on ourselves can be overwhelming. But God has not left us without a covering. Scripture reveals that divine protection is not merely a promise to admire but a spiritual reality that believers can walk in through faith, obedience, prayer, and intimacy with God. It is our responsibility to draw on this reality as we progress in our earthly pilgrimage.

Our anchor scripture for this month, Psalm 91, is one of the most powerful passages in the Bible concerning God's protection. The Psalm begins with a condition and a promise: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1). The emphasis is on “dwelling”. God's protection is closely connected to our relationship with Him. The secret place speaks of intimacy, fellowship, prayer, trust, and dependence upon God. Those who make God their habitation discover that His presence becomes their refuge and fortress. Psalm 91 declares that God is able to deliver His people from hidden dangers, terror by night, arrows by day, pestilence, destruction, and threats that cannot always be seen with the natural eye. The picture of a loving God who watches over His children is painted beautifully in verse 4: “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust.”

Throughout Scripture, divine protection is consistently revealed as part of God's covenant relationship with His people. According to Psalm 121:7–8, “The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in.” Isaiah 54:17 assures us, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.”, while 2 Thessalonians 3:3 reminds believers that “the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” God protected Noah and his family in the midst of judgment, preserved the Israelites through the Red Sea, delivered Daniel from the lions, protected the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace, and rescued Peter from prison. These accounts remind us that God remains a protector in every generation.

The four-part series for the month of September “Activating Divine Protection”, invites us to trust God, remain under His authority, obey His Word, pray consistently, exercise wisdom, and stand firmly on His promises. God's protection does not always mean the absence of storms; sometimes it means His presence and preservation in the middle of the storm.

Jer. 18: 20 Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for me. Remember that I stood before you and spoke in their behalf to turn your wrath away from them.

#Reject every trap!

Jer. 18: 21-22 So give their children over to famine; hand them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives be made childless and widows; let their men be put to death, their young men slain by the sword in battle.  Let a cry be heard from their houses when you suddenly bring invaders against them, for they have dug a pit to capture me and have hidden snares for my feet.

#Judgments of God!

Jer. 18: 23 But you, Lord, know all their plots to kill me. Do not forgive their crimes or blot out their sins from your sight. Let them be overthrown before you; deal with them in the time of your anger.

Let us pray: Father God, deliver us from evil plots in the name of Jesus.

#Desire mercy!..

Jer. 18: 14 Does the snow of Lebanon ever vanish from its rocky slopes? Do its cool waters from distant sources ever stop flowing?

#Desire blessings!

Jer. 18: 15 Yet my people have forgotten me; they burn incense to worthless idols, which made them stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths. They made them walk in byways,     on roads not built up.

#Reject evil!

Jer. 18: 16-17 Their land will be an object of horror and of lasting scorn; all who pass by will be appalled and will shake their heads. Like a wind from the east, I will scatter them before their enemies; I will show them my back and not my face in the day of their disaster.”

#Desire mercy!

Jer. 18: 18 They said, “Come, let’s make plans against Jeremiah; for the teaching of the law by the priest will not cease, nor will counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophets. So come, let’s attack him with our tongues and pay no attention to anything he says.”

Let us pray: Father God, abort the plans of our enemies in the name of Jesus.

#Beware of stubbornness!..

Jer. 18: 7-8 If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned.

#Grace for repentance!

Jer. 18: 9-10 And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, and if it does evil in my sight and does not obey me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it.

#Beware of evil!

Jer. 18: 11-12 “Now therefore say to the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, ‘This is what the Lord says: Look! I am preparing a disaster for you and devising a plan against you. So turn from your evil ways, each one of you, and reform your ways and your actions.’ But they will reply, ‘It’s no use. We will continue with our own plans; we will all follow the stubbornness of our evil hearts.’”

#Obedience before sacrifices!..

Jer. 17: 26 People will come from the towns of Judah and the villages around Jerusalem, from the territory of Benjamin and the western foothills, from the hill country and the Negev, bringing burnt offerings and sacrifices, grain offerings and incense, and bringing thank offerings to the house of the Lord.

#Sacrifices of thanksgiving!

Jer. 17: 27 But if you do not obey me to keep the Sabbath day holy by not carrying any load as you come through the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle an unquenchable fire in the gates of Jerusalem that will consume her fortresses.’”

#Obedience before sacrifices!

Jer. 18:1-3 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel.

#The appointed place!

Jer. 18: 4-6 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

#Keep the Sabbath!..

Jer. 17:19-20 This is what the Lord said to me: “Go and stand at the Gate of the People, through which the kings of Judah go in and out; stand also at all the other gates of Jerusalem. Say to them, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, you kings of Judah and all people of Judah and everyone living in Jerusalem who come through these gates.

#Listen to God!

Jer. 17:21-22 This is what the Lord says: Be careful not to carry a load on the Sabbath day or bring it through the gates of Jerusalem. Do not bring a load out of your houses or do any work on the Sabbath, but keep the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your ancestors.

#Keep the Sabbath!

Jer. 17: 3 Yet they did not listen or pay attention; they were stiff-necked and would not listen or respond to discipline.

#Respond to discipline!

Jer. 17: 24-25 But if you are careful to obey me, declares the Lord, and bring no load through the gates of this city on the Sabbath, but keep the Sabbath day holy by not doing any work on it, then kings who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this city with their officials. They and their officials will come riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by the men of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited forever.

Let us pray: Father God, thank you for the gift of life in the name of Jesus.

Jer. 17:16-17 I have not run away from being your shepherd; you know I have not desired the day of despair. What passes my lips is open before you. Do not be a terror to me; you are my refuge in the day of disaster.

#Desire divine refuge!

Jer. 17: 18 Let my persecutors be put to shame, but keep me from shame; let them be terrified, but keep me from terror. Bring on them the day of disaster; destroy them with double destruction.

#Guard against deception!..

Jer. 17:7-8 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought     and never fails to bear fruit.”

#Trust in God!

Jer. 17:9-10 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

#Guard against deception!

Jer. 17:11 Like a partridge that hatches eggs it did not lay are those who gain riches by unjust means. When their lives are half gone, their riches will desert them, and in the end they will prove to be fools.

#Desire honest wealth!

Jer. 17:12-13 A glorious throne, exalted from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary.  Lord, you are the hope of Israel; all who forsake you will be put to shame. Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust because they have forsaken the Lord, the spring of living water.

Let us pray: Father God, you are our firm foundation in the name of Jesus

ACTIVATING DIVINE PROTECTION! – PART 2 – GOD AS REFUGE!..

 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” — Psalm 91:1

Psalm 127:1 cautions against self-help, - "Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain."  In a world where uncertainty, danger, fear, insecurity, and unexpected challenges abound, the temptation to rely on ourselves can be overwhelming. But God has not left us without a covering. Scripture reveals that divine protection is not merely a promise to admire but a spiritual reality that believers can walk in through faith, obedience, prayer, and intimacy with God. It is our responsibility to draw on this reality as we progress in our earthly pilgrimage.

Our anchor scripture for this month, Psalm 91, is one of the most powerful passages in the Bible concerning God's protection. The Psalm begins with a condition and a promise: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1). The emphasis is on “dwelling”. God's protection is closely connected to our relationship with Him. The secret place speaks of intimacy, fellowship, prayer, trust, and dependence upon God. Those who make God their habitation discover that His presence becomes their refuge and fortress. Psalm 91 declares that God is able to deliver His people from hidden dangers, terror by night, arrows by day, pestilence, destruction, and threats that cannot always be seen with the natural eye. The picture of a loving God who watches over His children is painted beautifully in verse 4: “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust.”

Throughout Scripture, divine protection is consistently revealed as part of God's covenant relationship with His people. According to Psalm 121:7–8, “The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in.” Isaiah 54:17 assures us, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.”, while 2 Thessalonians 3:3 reminds believers that “the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” God protected Noah and his family in the midst of judgment, preserved the Israelites through the Red Sea, delivered Daniel from the lions, protected the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace, and rescued Peter from prison. These accounts remind us that God remains a protector in every generation.

The four-part series for the month of September “Activating Divine Protection”, invites us to trust God, remain under His authority, obey His Word, pray consistently, exercise wisdom, and stand firmly on His promises. God's protection does not always mean the absence of storms; sometimes it means His presence and preservation in the middle of the storm.

#The grievous sin!..

Jer. 16:20-21 Do people make their own gods? Yes, but they are not gods!” “Therefore I will teach them— this time I will teach them my power and might. Then they will know     that my name is the Lord.

#The powerful God!

Jer. 17:1-2 “Judah’s sin is engraved with an iron tool, inscribed with a flint point, on the tablets of their hearts and on the horns of their altars. Even their children remember     their altars and Asherah poles beside the spreading trees and on the high hills.

#The grievous sin!

Jer. 17:3-4 My mountain in the land and your wealth and all your treasures I will give away as plunder, together with your high places, because of sin throughout your country.  Through your own fault you will lose the inheritance I gave you. I will enslave you to your enemies in a land you do not know, for you have kindled my anger, and it will burn forever.”

#The inheritance loss!

Jer. 17:5-6 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.

Let us pray: Father God, our trust is upon you in the name of Jesus

#Desire divine mercy!..

Jer. 16:14-15 “However, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when it will no longer be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but it will be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ For I will restore them to the land I gave their ancestors.

#Desire divine restoration!

Jer. 16:16 “But now I will send for many fishermen,” declares the Lord, “and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks.

#Beware of divine judgment!

Jer. 16:17-18 My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes. I will repay them double for their wickedness and their sin, because they have defiled my land with the lifeless forms of their vile images and have filled my inheritance with their detestable idols.”

#Desire divine mercy!

Jer. 16:19 Lord, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, “Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good.

Let us pray: Father God, we desire your awesome presence in the name of Jesus

#Beware of divine judgment!..

Jer. 16:6-7 “Both high and low will die in this land. They will not be buried or mourned, and no one will cut themselves or shave their head for the dead. No one will offer food to comfort those who mourn for the dead—not even for a father or a mother—nor will anyone give them a drink to console them.

#Beware of mourning!

Jer. 16:8-9 “And do not enter a house where there is feasting and sit down to eat and drink. For this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Before your eyes and in your days I will bring an end to the sounds of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride and bridegroom in this place.

#Beware of feasting!

Jer. 16:10-11 “When you tell these people all this and they ask you, ‘Why has the Lord decreed such a great disaster against us? What wrong have we done? What sin have we committed against the Lord our God?’ then say to them, ‘It is because your ancestors forsook me,’ declares the Lord, ‘and followed other gods and served and worshiped them. They forsook me and did not keep my law.

#Beware of divine judgment!

Jer. 16:12-13 But you have behaved more wickedly than your ancestors. See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts instead of obeying me. So I will throw you out of this land into a land neither you nor your ancestors have known, and there you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’

Let us pray: Father God, we receive the grace to obey you in the name of Jesus

Jer. 15:20-21 I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to rescue and save you,” declares the Lord. “I will save you from the hands of the wicked and deliver you from the grasp of the cruel.”

#Desire divine deliverance!

Jer. 16:1-2 Then the word of the Lord came to me: “You must not marry and have sons or daughters in this place.”

#Desire divine direction!

Jer. 16:3-4 For this is what the Lord says about the sons and daughters born in this land and about the women who are their mothers and the men who are their fathers: “They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will be like dung lying on the ground. They will perish by sword and famine, and their dead bodies will become food for the birds and the wild animals.”

Jer. 16:5 For this is what the Lord says: “Do not enter a house where there is a funeral meal; do not go to mourn or show sympathy, because I have withdrawn my blessing, my love and my pity from this people,” declares the Lord.

Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them.
