PROVOKING THE MINISTRY OF ANGELS! – PART 1 - INTRODUCTION!..

The Bible talks about an angelic visitation in the sixth month: Luke 1:26-28 “In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary.  The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." This visitation brought the good news of the birth of Jesus Christ, and underscores alongside other scriptures, the importance of angels in the affairs of humanity.

Who are angels? What roles do they play in the life of the believer? How can you activate the ministry of angels in your life? The Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary describes an angel as “a member of an order of heavenly beings who are superior to man in power and intelligence. By nature, angels are spiritual beings (Heb 1:14). Their nature is superior to human nature (Heb 2:7), and they have superhuman power and knowledge (2 Sam 14:17,20; 2 Peter 2:11).”

Throughout Scripture, God has consistently used angels as instruments of His power, protection, guidance, provision, and deliverance. From Genesis to Revelation, angels appear as divine messengers carrying out God's assignments on behalf of His covenant people. Angels announced the birth of Isaac, rescued Lot from Sodom, strengthened Elijah in the wilderness, protected Daniel in the lions' den, released Peter from prison, ministered to Jesus after His temptation, and continue to serve God's purposes today.

The Bible teaches that angels are "ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation" (Hebrews 1:14). This means that every believer has access to divine assistance through the ministry of angels. Yet many Christians live unaware of this supernatural provision and therefore fail to benefit from it. Our four-part series for the month of June, “Provoking the ministry of Angels”, is not about worshipping angels, praying to angels, or seeking angelic encounters for their own sake. Rather, it is about understanding the biblical principles that position believers for divine intervention and supernatural help.

As we study this subject, we will discover that angelic activity is often connected to prayer, worship, obedience, holiness, faith, and God's divine purposes. We will learn how to cooperate with God's plans and create an atmosphere in which the ministry of angels is activated. Our prayer throughout this month is that God will open our eyes to the reality of His supernatural assistance and cause us to experience fresh dimensions of divine protection, provision, guidance, and breakthrough.  Join us this and every Sunday, on-line or in person, as we explore the theme.

GOOD WORKS! – PART 5- CONCLUSION!.. (ANOINTING SERVICE)

The concluding sermon in our series for the month of April, “Unhindered”, centered on purpose. God’s purpose in creation is for good works. As Genesis 1:31 declares, “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day”. We see the refrain, “and God saw that it was good” all through Genesis chapter 1.  And when Adam’s sin brought a separation, God still had a good work of redemption in that He gave His only begotten son, Jesus to die for our sin (John 3:16). Apart from the redemptive purpose, God empowered Jesus for good works as seen in Acts 10:38, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”

We are created in the image of God, and not only are we expected to model Him and His Christ in good works, we are actually designed to do so. Ephesians 2:10 puts it this way – “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. Most times we come to God in prayer, with selfish needs and desires. While this is not wrong, God desires that we meet the needs of others, put a smile on peoples’ face, and make a difference in our world. We don’t do this to boast, but as a mark of worship to God and to point others to Him.

In Matthew 5:16, Jesus gives a clear and compelling mandate: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” This statement sits at the heart of kingdom living. It reveals that the Christian life is not meant to be hidden, private, or inactive. Instead, it is meant to be visible, impactful, and transformative. Our lives are designed to put God on display through the way we live and the works we do. From the beginning of Scripture to the end, God has always been interested in a people whose lives reflect His nature through good works.

May is the fifth month, and five is the number of grace. There is nothing that can hinder the purpose of God for our lives as the enabling grace is made available. Our five-part series for the month, “Good works”, is a call to look beyond our needs and do good works. Some may be big, others small; some may be in secret, others in the open. Whichever case applies, let us be intentional about carrying out the commandment of Christ to shine our light in this dark world, and by so doing point others to God. Join us this Sunday, on-line or in person, as we explore the theme and conclude the series with anointing service.

#Connect with humility!

Prov. 25:8-10 Do not bring hastily to court, for what will you do in the end if your neighbor puts you to shame? If you take your neighbor to court, do not betray another’s confidence,  or the one who hears it may shame you and the charge against you will stand.

WORD DIARY: MONDAY MAY 25, 2026

#Desire victory in righteousness!..

Prov. 24:13-14 Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste. Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

#Desire wisdom as honey!

Prov. 24:15-16 Do not lurk like a thief near the house of the righteous, do not plunder their dwelling place; for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.

#Desire victory in righteousness!

Prov. 24:17-18 Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from them.

#Beware of gloating!

Prov. 24:19-20 Do not fret because of evildoers or be envious of the wicked, for the evildoer has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.

Let us pray: Father God, we thank you for the hope of future blessings in the name of Jesus

#Life questions and meditation:

1. Would you rather desire honey?

2. Would you rather desire wisdom?

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY MAY 24, 2026

#Desire spiritual strength!..

Prov. 24:7 Wisdom is too high for fools; in the assembly at the gate they must not open their mouths.

#Aspire for wisdom!

Prov. 24:8-9 Whoever plots evil will be known as a schemer. The schemes of folly are sin,     and people detest a mocker.

#Reject evil plots!

Prov. 24:10 If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!

#Desire spiritual strength!

Prov. 24:11-12 Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?

Let us pray: Father God, we receive the grace to help others in the name of Jesus

#Life questions and meditation:

1. Would you rather demonstrate strength in times of trouble?

2. Would you rather demonstrate weakness in times of trouble?

Postscript

Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

God, more than earthly manufacturers, created a perfect mankind; and like every manufacturer, He gave the Bible as the manual. As we brush our teeth and eat every day, so much do we need to look into that manual for daily living and thereby prevent a malfunction inherent in seeking our many devices.

GOOD WORKS! – PART 4- DON’T GIVE UP YET!..

Join us this and every Sunday, on-line or in person, as we explore the theme.
