WORD DIARY: THURSDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2019

Luke 14:34-15:1 "Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Fulfill purpose! #PastorBasil

Luke 15:1-2 Now the tax collectors and "sinners" were all gathering around to hear him. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."

Don’t discriminate! #PastorBasil

Luke 15:3-4 Then Jesus told them this parable: "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?

Find the missing link! #PastorBasil

Mark 15:1 Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law and the whole Sanhedrin, reached a decision. They bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate.

Let us pray: Every strongman and chain of hindrance holding our destiny, scatter and die in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 27, 2019

Luke 14:28-30 "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'

Prepare for success! #PastorBasil

Luke 14:31 "Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?

Evaluate your resources! #PastorBasil

Luke 14:32-33 If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.

Grace for discipleship! #PastorBasil

Mark 14:71-72 He began to call down curses on himself, and he swore to them, "I don't know this man you're talking about." Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: "Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times." And he broke down and wept.

Let us pray: O Lord, where we are weak, strengthen us in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: TUESDAY FEBRUARY 26, 2019

Luke 14:12 Then Jesus said to his host, "When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.

Challenge your thoughts! #PastorBasil

Luke 14:13-14 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

Eternal rewards! #PastorBasil

Luke 14:25-27 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters — yes, even his own life — he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Grace for sacrifice! #PastorBasil

Mark 14:66-68 While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came by. When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked closely at him. "You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus," she said. But he denied it. "I don't know or understand what you're talking about," he said, and went out into the entryway.

Let us pray: O Lord, may our words and actions identify with you in Jesus name  #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: MONDAY FEBRUARY 25, 2019

Luke 14:7-8  When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable: "When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited.

Wisdom is key! #PastorBasil

Luke 14:9 If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, 'Give this man your seat.' Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place.

Ignorance kills! #PastorBasil

Luke 14:10-12 But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, 'Friend, move up to a better place.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Humility is a virtue! #PastorBasil

Mark 14:64 "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him as worthy of death.

Let us pray: Thank you Lord, for giving yourself as a substitute for our sins in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY FEBRUARY 24, 2019

Luke 14:1 One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched.

Reject evil monitoring powers! #PastorBasil

Luke 14:2-4 There in front of him was a man suffering from dropsy. Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?"  But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him away.

Do good, always! #PastorBasil

Luke 14:5-6 Then he asked them, "If one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull him out?"  And they had nothing to say.

Silence the opposition! #PastorBasil

Mark 14:62-63 "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked.

Let us pray: The enemy can run mad, our identity in God will not change in Jesus name #PastorBasil

Postscript

Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

God, more than earthly manufacturers, created a perfect mankind; and like every manufacturer, He gave the Bible as the manual. As we brush our teeth and eat every day, so much do we need to look into that manual for daily living and thereby prevent a malfunction inherent in seeking our many devices.

These verses and the accompanying nuggets are meant to start you out every day. But you need a personal relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. It will help to contact a bible believing church near you.
