WORD DIARY: SATURDAY FEBRUARY 29, 2020

Jesus is the answer!..

Rom 7:23 But I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.

Wage war against sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

Jesus is the answer! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:25 Thanks be to God — through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

Overcome sin in the mind! #PastorBasil

John 13:9 "Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!"

Let us pray: Father God, we surrender to your sovereignty in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2020

Delight in the commandment of God!...

Rom 7:18 I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

Grace to do good! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:19-20 For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do — this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

Don’t give sin a place in your life! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:21-22 So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law

Delight in the commandment of God! #PastorBasil

John 13:8 "No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."

Let us pray: O Lord, do your work upon our destiny in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: THURSDAY FEBRUARY 27, 2020

Wanted: grace to overcome sin!...

Rom 7:14  We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.

Resist the carnal nature! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:15  I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Wanted: grace to overcome sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:16-17 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.

God’s commandment is good! #PastorBasil

John 13:6-7 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?" Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."

Let us pray: Father God, help our understanding in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 26, 2020

Obey the holy and righteous commandment!...

Rom 7:11 For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.

Make no room for sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:12 So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.

Obey the holy and righteous commandment! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:13 Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

Recognize sin for what it is! #PastorBasil

John 13:4-5 So he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

Let us pray: O Lord, wash us into our inheritance in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: TUESDAY FEBRUARY 25, 2020

Reject negative desires!...

Rom 7:7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."

The law points to offence! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:8 But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from law, sin is dead.

Reject negative desires! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:9-10 Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.

Don’t fall into sin! #PastorBasil

John 13:3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God;

Let us pray: Father God, baptize us with the knowledge of our gifts in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: MONDAY FEBRUARY 24, 2020

Produce living, not dead fruits!....

Rom 7:4 So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.

QED! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:5 For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death.

Produce living, not dead fruits! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:6 But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

Spirit-filled living! #PastorBasil

John 13:2 The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus.

Let us pray: Father God, we receive grace to reject any satanic temptation in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY FEBRUARY 23, 2020

Released from the law!...

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God gives eternal life! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:1 Do you not know, brothers — for I am speaking to men who know the law — that the law has authority over a man only as long as he lives?

The law is for the living! #PastorBasil

Rom 7:2-3 For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man.

Released from the law! #PastorBasil

John 13:1 It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.

Let us pray: O Lord, may we experience the full extent of your love in Jesus name #PastorBasil

Postscript

Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

God, more than earthly manufacturers, created a perfect mankind; and like every manufacturer, He gave the Bible as the manual. As we brush our teeth and eat every day, so much do we need to look into that manual for daily living and thereby prevent a malfunction inherent in seeking our many devices.

These verses and the accompanying nuggets are meant to start you out every day. But you need a personal relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. It will help to contact a bible believing church near you.

WORD DIARY: SATURDAY FEBRUARY 22, 2020

No gain in sin!...

Rom 6:20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.

Be controlled by righteousness! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!

No gain in sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Go for holiness and eternal life! #PastorBasil

John 12:49-50 For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say."

Let us pray: Father God, we receive grace to obey your command which leads to eternal life in Jesus name  #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: FRIDAY FEBRUARY 21, 2020

Set free unto righteousness!...

Rom 6:17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.

No more slaves to sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Set free unto righteousness! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:19 I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.

Reality check: where is your camp?! #PastorBasil

John 12:48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.

Let us pray: Father God, may we accept your message of salvation in Jesus name #PastorBasil

Grace is not a license to sin!..

Rom 6:14 For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

Grace to overcome sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!

Grace is not a license to sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:16 Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey — whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Obedience leads to righteousness! #PastorBasil

John 12:47 "As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it.

Let us pray: O Lord, we accept your saving grace in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 19, 2020

Be an instrument of righteousness!...

Rom 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Dead to sin, alive to God! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:12-13 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.

Disobey evil desires! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:13 Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.

Be an instrument of righteousness! #PastorBasil

John 12:46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

WORD DIARY: TUESDAY FEBRUARY 18, 2020

Live with Christ!....

Rom 6:7 Because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

Power over sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

Live with Christ! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:9-10 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

No more death! #PastorBasil

John 12:44-45 Then Jesus cried out, "When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me.

Let us pray: O Lord, receive the grace to fellowship with you in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: MONDAY FEBRUARY 17, 2020

Raised to live in righteousness!...

Rom 6:3-4  Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

Dead to sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Raised to live in righteousness! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:5-6 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin

No longer a slave to sin! #PastorBasil

John 12:42-43 Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not confess their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved praise from men more than praise from God.

Let us pray: Father God, give us the grace to live to honor you more than man in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY FEBRUARY 16, 2020

STOP SIN!, or sin will stop you!...

Rom 5:20 The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more

Abundant grace! #PastorBasil

Rom 5:21 So that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Grace reigns through righteousness! #PastorBasil

Rom 6:1-2 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

STOP SIN!, or sin will stop you! #PastorBasil

John 12:41 Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus' glory and spoke about him.

Let us pray: O Lord, may we see your glory in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: SATURDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2020

Jesus paid the price for the gift!...

Rom 5:17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

Receive divine grace and righteousness! #PastorBasil

Rom 5:18 Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.

Jesus paid the price for the gift! #PastorBasil

Rom 5:19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Obedience is key! #PastorBasil

John 12:40 "He has blinded their eyes and deadened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn — and I would heal them."

Let us pray: Father God, give us a seeing eye and a heart of obedience in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: FRIDAY FEBRUARY 14, 2020

Divine gift of love!...

Rom 5:14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come.

No more death! #PastorBasil

Rom 5:15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!

Available grace! #PastorBasil

Rom 5:16 Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.

Divine gift of love! #PastorBasil

John 12:39  For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere:

Let us pray: Father God, we reject every arrow of unbelief in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: THURSDAY FEBRUARY 13, 2020

Rejoice in the Lord!...

Rom 5:10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Enjoy the saving grace of Jesus! #PastorBasil

Rom 5:11 Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Rejoice in the Lord! #PastorBasil

Rom 5:12-13 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law.

Freedom from the bondage of sin and law! #PastorBasil

John 12:37-38 Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him. This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: "Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"

Let us pray: O Lord, we receive grace to believe your wondrous works in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2020

Manifest love of God!...

Rom 5:6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

God is always on time! #PastorBasil

Rom 5:7-8 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Manifest love of God! #PastorBasil

Rom 5:9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!

Justified by the blood of Jesus! #PastorBasil

John 12:36 Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light." When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.

Let us pray: O Lord, overshadow us with your light in Jesus name #PastorBasil
