#Worship God!...

Ex 8:19 The magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hard and he would not listen, just as the Lord had said.

#Don’t resist God!

Ex 8:20 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he goes to the river and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. 

#Worship God!

Ex 8:21 If you do not let my people go, I will send swarms of flies on you and your officials, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians will be full of flies; even the ground will be covered with them.

#Obey God!

Gen 9: 27 May God extend Japheth’s territory; may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.”

#Manifestation of divine direction!....

Ex 8:16 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground,’ and throughout the land of Egypt the dust will become gnats.”

#Divine direction!

Ex 8:17 They did this, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with the staff and struck the dust of the ground, gnats came on people and animals. All the dust throughout the land of Egypt became gnats. 

#Manifestation of divine direction!

Ex 8:18 But when the magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts, they could not. Since the gnats were on people and animals everywhere

#Useless powers!

Gen 9: 26 He also said, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem.

Let us pray: Father God, thank you for the freedom to worship you in the name of Jesus

#Be grateful!....

Ex 8:12 After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs he had brought on Pharaoh.

#Make your request!

Ex 8:13-14 And the Lord did what Moses asked. The frogs died in the houses, in the courtyards and in the fields. They were piled into heaps, and the land reeked of them. 

#Go for divine response!

Ex 8:15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.

#Be grateful!

Gen 9: 24-25 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.”

Let us pray: Father God, let your mercy prevail in the name of Jesus

#Grace for answered prayers!...

Ex 8:8 Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”

#Grace for discernment!

Ex 8:9 Moses said to Pharaoh, “I leave to you the honor of setting the time for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile.”

#Grace for divine insight!

Ex 8:9-10 Tomorrow,” Pharaoh said. Moses replied, “It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the Lord our God. The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile.”

#Grace for answered prayers!

Gen 9: 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.

Ex 8:5 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff over the streams and canals and ponds, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.’”

#Divine instruction!

Ex 8:6 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land.

#Obey divine instruction!

Ex 8:7 But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts; they also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.

#Beware of deception!

Gen 9: 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.

Ex 7:25 Seven days passed after the Lord struck the Nile.

#Grace to make amends!

Ex 8:1 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. 

#Another chance!

Ex 8:2-4 If you refuse to let them go, I will send a plague of frogs on your whole country. The Nile will teem with frogs. They will come up into your palace and your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your officials and on your people, and into your ovens and kneading troughs. The frogs will come up on you and your people and all your officials.’”

#Another consequence!

Gen 9: 20-21 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.

GOOD NEWS!... PART 4 – CONCLUSION!

 

The contemporary world is going through a lot of challenges. The news media is replete with war, threats of war, hunger, killings, rising cost of living and so on. Yet in the midst of all these, there is good news from the word of God. In John chapter 16 and verse 3, Jesus, our ultimate good news and source of good news gives us assurance; "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." 

This means that we can overcome the challenging and troubling times through faith in God and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Indeed, Christ came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. His sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary and resurrection reconciled us to God and brought back the fellowship that man lost when Adam sinned. We can now access the promises of God to man -  salvation, deliverance, health, wealth etc.

We are enjoined by Scripture to share this good news and this responsibility also has a promise; “How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7 NKJV

Our four-part series for the month of June, “Good News” is aimed at unpacking the truth of God’s word to find hope, succor and victory over these challenging times; and more importantly to enjoy eternal life in God. Join us this Sunday as we further explore the theme and conclude the series .

#Beware of pride!...

Ex 7:22 But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh’s heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.

#Beware of false confidence!

Ex 7:23 Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart. 

#Beware of pride!

Ex 7:24 And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water, because they could not drink the water of the river.

#Beware of the consequences of pride!

Gen 9:18-19 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.) These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the whole earth.

#Execute divine instruction!...

Ex 7:19 The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt—over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs—and they will turn to blood.’ Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels of wood and stone.”

#Divine instruction!

Ex 7:20 Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood.

#Execute divine instruction!

Ex 7:21 The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.

#Manifestation of divine instruction!

Gen 9:16 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

Let us pray: O Lord, cause us to see your marvelous works in the name of Jesus

Gen 9:16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

Ex 7:13 Yet Pharaoh's heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said. 

#Don’t harden your heart!

Ex 7:14 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Pharaoh's heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go. 

#Open up your heart!

Ex 7:15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the water. Wait on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake.

#Take the challenge!

Gen 9:14-15 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.

Ex 7:10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.

#Act on divine instructions!

Ex 7:11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: 

#Beware of contrary powers!

Ex 7:12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.

#Ultimate divine power!

Gen 9:13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 

Let us pray: Father God, we thank you for the token of the covenant in the name of Jesus

Ex 7:7 Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

Ex 7:8-9 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "When Pharaoh says to you, 'Perform a miracle,' then say to Aaron, 'Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,' and it will become a snake."

Gen 9:12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:

Ex 7:1 Then the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. 

#Divine empowerment!

Ex 7:2 You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country.

#Divine assignment!

Ex 7:3-4 But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites.

#Divine strategy!

Gen 9:11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth."

Ex 6:14-25 These were the heads of their families: The sons of Reuben the firstborn son of Israel were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. These were the clans of Reuben.... Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These were the heads of the Levite families, clan by clan.

Ex 6:26-27 It was this same Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said, "Bring the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions." They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing the Israelites out of Egypt. It was the same Moses and Aaron.

Ex 6:28-30 Now when the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt, he said to him, "I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you." But Moses said to the Lord, "Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?"

Ex 5:22-23 Moses returned to the Lord and said, "O Lord, why have you brought trouble upon this people? Is this why you sent me? Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble upon this people, and you have not rescued your people at all."

Ex 6:1 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country."

#Resist injustice!...

Ex 5:15-16 Then the Israelite foremen went and appealed to Pharaoh: "Why have you treated your servants this way? Your servants are given no straw, yet we are told, 'Make bricks!' Your servants are being beaten, but the fault is with your own people." 

#Make a demand!

Ex 5:17-18 Pharaoh said, "Lazy, that's what you are — lazy! That is why you keep saying, 'Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.' Now get to work. You will not be given any straw, yet you must produce your full quota of bricks." 

#Resist injustice!

Ex 5:19 The Israelite foremen realized they were in trouble when they were told, "You are not to reduce the number of bricks required of you for each day." 

#Grace to overcome!

Gen 9:3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

GOOD NEWS!... PART 2 – THE GREAT COMMISSION

The contemporary world is going through a lot of challenges. The news media is replete with war, threats of war, hunger, killings, rising cost of living and so on. Yet in the midst of all these, there is good news from the word of God. In John chapter 16 and verse 3, Jesus, our ultimate good news and source of good news gives us assurance; "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." 

This means that we can overcome the challenging and troubling times through faith in God and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Indeed, Christ came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. His sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary and resurrection reconciled us to God and brought back the fellowship that man lost when Adam sinned. We can now access the promises of God to man -  salvation, deliverance, health, wealth etc.

We are enjoined by Scripture to share this good news and this responsibility also has a promise; “How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7 NKJV

Our four-part series for the month of June, “Good News” is aimed at unpacking the truth of God’s word to find hope, succor and victory over these challenging times; and more importantly to enjoy eternal life in God. Join us this and every Sunday of the month as we explore this theme.

#Grace to succeed!

Gen 9:2 The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands.

#Reject the task masters!....

Ex 5:8 But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don't reduce the quota. They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, 'Let us go and sacrifice to our God.'

Ex 5:9 Make the work harder for the men so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies."

Ex 5:10-11 Then the slave drivers and the foremen went out and said to the people, "This is what Pharaoh says: 'I will not give you any more straw. Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it, but your work will not be reduced at all.'"

Ex 4:21 The Lord said to Moses, "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.

Ex 4:22-23 Then say to Pharaoh, 'This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son, and I told you, "Let my son go, so he may worship me." But you refused to let him go; so I will kill your firstborn son.'"

Ex 4:24 At a lodging place on the way, the Lord met [Moses] and was about to kill him.

Ex 4:18 Then Moses went back to Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, "Let me go back to my own people in Egypt to see if any of them are still alive." Jethro said, "Go, and I wish you well."

GOOD NEWS!... PART 1 - INTRODUCTION

 

The contemporary world is going through a lot of challenges. The news media is replete with war, threats of war, hunger, killings, rising cost of living and so on. Yet in the midst of all these, there is good news from the word of God. In John chapter 16 and verse 3, Jesus, our ultimate good news and source of good news gives us assurance; "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." 

This means that we can overcome the challenging and troubling times through faith in God and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Indeed, Christ came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. His sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary and resurrection reconciled us to God and brought back the fellowship that man lost when Adam sinned. We can now access the promises of God to man -  salvation, deliverance, health, wealth etc.

We are enjoined by Scripture to share this good news and this responsibility also has a promise; “How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7 NKJV

Our four-part series for the month of June, “Good News” is aimed at unpacking the truth of God’s word to find hope, succor and victory over these challenging times; and more importantly to enjoy eternal life in God. Join us this and every Sunday of the month as we explore this theme.

 #You can!....

Ex 4:10 Moses said to the Lord, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue." 

#No limitations!

Ex 4:11-12 The Lord said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." 

#Divine enablement!

Ex 4:13 But Moses said, "O Lord, please send someone else to do it." 

#You can!

Gen 8:12 He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him. 

Let us pray: O Lord, give us the wings to fly in the name of Jesus

WORD DIARY: FRIDAY JUNE 3, 2022

 #Confirmation of divine instruction!...

Ex 4:6 Then the Lord said, "Put your hand inside your cloak." So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was leprous, like snow. 

#Divine instruction!

Ex 4:7 "Now put it back into your cloak," he said. So Moses put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his flesh. 

#New divine instruction!

Ex 4:8-10 Then the Lord said, "If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first miraculous sign, they may believe the second. But if they do not believe these two signs or listen to you, take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground. The water you take from the river will become blood on the ground." 

#Confirmation of divine instruction!

Gen 8:10-11 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth.

Let us pray: Father God, we receive the grace to wait for our breakthrough in the name of Jesus

WORD DIARY: THURSDAY JUNE 2, 2022

 #Demonstrate the power!..

Ex 4:3 The Lord said, "Throw it on the ground." Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it.

#You’ve got the power!

Ex 4:4 Then the Lord said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. 

#Demonstrate the power!

Ex 4:5 "This," said the Lord, "is so that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers — the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob — has appeared to you." 

#Evidence of the power!

Gen 8:9 But the dove could find no place to set its feet because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark.

Let us pray: Father God, help us to discover our destiny in the name of Jesus.
