HAPPY NEW MONTH!

Greater achievements by divine grace indeed!...

WORD DIARY: MONDAY MAY 1, 2023

#Altar of remembrance!..

Gen 35:11 And God said to him, “I am God Almighty; be fruitful and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will be among your descendants.

#Grace for increase!

Gen 35:12-13 The land I gave to Abraham and Isaac I also give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you.” Then God went up from him at the place where he had talked with him.

#Divine inheritance!

Gen 35:14-15 Jacob set up a stone pillar at the place where God had talked with him, and he poured out a drink offering on it; he also poured oil on it. Jacob called the place where God had talked with him Bethel.

#Altar of remembrance!

Gen 35:16 Then they moved on from Bethel. While they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth and had great difficulty.

Let us pray: Father God, arise and help us in the name of Jesus

#Life questions and meditation:

1. What inheritance do you have from God?

2. Do you value the inheritance you have from God?

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY APRIL 30, 2023

#Obey divine instructions!..

Gen 35:5 Then they set out, and the terror of God fell on the towns all around them so that no one pursued them.

#Divine protection!

Gen 35:6-7 Jacob and all the people with him came to Luz (that is, Bethel) in the land of Canaan. There he built an altar, and he called the place El Bethel, because it was there that God revealed himself to him when he was fleeing from his brother.

#Obey divine instructions!

Gen 35:8 Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died and was buried under the oak outside Bethel. So it was named Allon Bakuth.

#Do the needful!

Gen 35:9-10 After Jacob returned from Paddan Aram, God appeared to him again and blessed him. God said to him, “Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel.” So he named him Israel.

Let us pray: Father God, change our destiny for good in the name of Jesus

#Life questions and meditation:

1. Are you conscious of God’s protection over your life?

2. Do you appreciate God’s protection over your life?

Postscript

Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

God, more than earthly manufacturers, created a perfect mankind; and like every manufacturer, He gave the Bible as the manual. As we brush our teeth and eat every day, so much do we need to look into that manual for daily living and thereby prevent a malfunction inherent in seeking our many devices.

These verses and the accompanying nuggets are meant to start you out every day. But you need a personal relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. It will help to contact a Bible believing church near you.

RAPID ADVANCEMENT!.. - PART 5 – CONCLUSION (FROM PRISON TO PALACE!)

We live in a world of rapid technological advancement. There are innovations being made by the day, and it appears life is now measured by the frequency of such innovations. Indeed, God created us to make progress, and this is in spite of the current global challenges. It is not surprising, therefore, that the Bible is replete with instances and calls for such progress.

As we step into the second quarter of the year, this is a good time to search the mind of God and take courage and inspiration, to dare the odds and move forward in life and destiny. With an assurance from God, Isaac faced the opposition of the enemy neighbours and yet he made progress and became great in a foreign land (Gen. 26:12-14: “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he  became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him”). The Apostle Paul went through persecution and imprisonment, but he was quick to record that this has advanced the course of the gospel (Phil. 1:12-14 “Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear”).

In our individual and corporate lives, we may be going through issues and challenges that would ordinarily constrain us from moving forward. But to the extent that we have God on our side and can leverage on the witnesses of people that have succeeded against all odds, the onus is on us to advance rapidly. The grace of God is available and we have to shine our light in a dark, though technologically advancing world. Our mandate for excellence must be valued and not taken for granted.

Our five-part series for the month of April, “Rapid Advancement”, sets the agenda for us to move forward and make progress in every area of our lives. Join us this Sunday as we explore the theme and conclude the series.

God bless you.
