BEYOND EXPECTATIONS! – PART 3 – THE EXPECTATION OF THE RIGHTEOUS!..

 

We are in a world where glistening achievements are called success. And everyone is running towards 'achieving' one thing or the other. But, here is a clear message as believers to remind us of our stand in all of this, the book of Psalm 92:7 (KJV) states: “When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed forever”. The Message translation puts it more succinctly: Ps 92:7 “When the wicked popped up like weeds and all the evil men and women took over, You mowed them down, finished them off once and for all”.

By this pronouncement from the word of God, we are clear on the future of the success of the unrighteous; there is certainty of gloom and doom. But for the righteous, Proverbs 23:17-18 (KJV) states: “Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. For surely there is an end, and thine expectation shall not be cut off”

 

In the quest to turn our expectations into manifestations, we must be wary of the pathway. Just like Joseph, who became the Prime Minister in Egypt, he could have embraced the invitation from Potiphar's wife and could have enjoyed so many benefits through her. He necessarily might not have been caught in the act, and the woman could have done her part to make him comfortable in her home. Yet, there is a certainty that it will not last. This supposed achievement is bound to be cut short. And Joshua 1:8 (KJV) provides a clear definition of how to achieve lasting success: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”.

The third part of our theme for May, “Beyond Expectations”, deals with:

1. How our intimacy with God can influence our expectations

2. The danger of harboring envy towards the achievement of the ungodly

3. How to align our expectations with the will of God for our life and conclusively,

4. How our service to God turns our expectations into manifestation.
