Postscript

Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

God, more than earthly manufacturers, created a perfect mankind; and like every manufacturer, He gave the Bible as the manual. As we brush our teeth and eat every day, so much do we need to look into that manual for daily living and thereby prevent a malfunction inherent in seeking our many devices.

These verses and the accompanying nuggets are meant to start you out every day. But you need a personal relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. It will help to contact a Bible believing church near you.

BE RENEWED!... PART 4 - CONCLUSION

In the midst of the current global economic, political and security challenges, the temptation appears strong to give up on hope and give in to despair. It is equally possible, however, to cut into a reset or reboot mode, and come up stronger and more determined to live life, successfully and to the limit. Be encouraged that the month of August provides such an opportunity. August is the eight month, and eight is spiritually regarded as the number of new beginnings. Its akin to the opportunity a football team gets to put in their best and win the match during the second half, after the rest and pep talk that accompanies the half-time whistle. To be renewed means to be revived, refreshed, reloaded, refilled and new. More than the physical implications, to be renewed means to enter a covenant relationship with God through the mystery of new birth.

The Bible gives us ample examples of how we can be renewed. Isaiah 40: 29-31, tells us “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” NIV. The Message version renders this same scripture in an interesting manner: “He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind” Thus waiting upon or hope in God is a sure recipe for us to receive strength to navigate the challenging times we live; we are empowered to soar above circumstances. Another scripture of note is Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” If we must win the battles of life and enjoy a successful Christian journey, we must, through the word of God imbibe heavenly standards. The inward change in our lives produces an outward manifestation.

No matter from which perspective we look at it, God is calling us into a season of renewal in which we triumph over existential circumstances and emerge into a glorious Christian living. Our four-part series for the month of August, “Be Renewed”, examines how this renewal can be our lot and what impact it can make in our lives. Join us this Sunday as we conclude the series.

God bless you.

BE RENEWED!... PART 2- THE POWER OF SIGHT

Join us this and every Sunday as we explore the theme

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY AUGUST 3, 2022

#Cost of disobedience!...

Ex 12:28 The Israelites did just what the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron.

#Obey God!

Ex 12:29 At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.

#Divine judgment!

Ex 12:30 Pharaoh and all his officials and all the Egyptians got up during the night, and there was loud wailing in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead.

#Cost of disobedience!

Gen 12:10 Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe.

Let us pray: Father God grant us the grace for abundance in the name of Jesus

#Life questions and meditation:

 1. Do you agree that disobedience has a cost?

WORD DIARY: TUESDAY AUGUST 2, 2022

#Keep the covenant!...

Ex 12:24 “Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance for you and your descendants.

#Complete obedience!..

Ex 12:25 When you enter the land that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony.

#Keep the covenant!

Ex 12:26-27 And when your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’ then tell them, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’” Then the people bowed down and worshiped.

#Worship the Lord!

Gen 12:8-9 From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord. Then Abram set out and continued toward the Negev.

Let us pray: O Lord, may your presence never depart from us in the name of Jesus

#Life questions and meditation:

1. Do you live in complete obedience to God?

2. Do you worship God in spirit and in truth?
