WORD DIARY: FRIDAY JANUARY 31, 2020

Blameless through God!....

Rom 3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.

Grace for accountability! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

Do good! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.

Blameless through God! #PastorBasil

John 12:20-21 Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the Feast. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. "Sir," they said, "we would like to see Jesus."

Let us pray: O Lord, may our relationship with you increase greatly in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: THURSDAY JANUARY 30, 2020

Fear God!....

Rom 3:13-14 "Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit." "The poison of vipers is on their lips."  "Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."

Speak in love! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:15-17 "Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and
the way of peace they do not know."

Reject evil! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

Fear God! #PastorBasil

John 12:18-19 Many people, because they had heard that he had given this miraculous sign, went out to meet him. So the Pharisees said to one another, "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!"

Let us pray: O Lord, arise and contend with envious powers in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY JANUARY 29, 2020

Seek God; do good!...

Rom 3:9 What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.

All have sinned! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:10-11 As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.

Seek God! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."

Do good! #PastorBasil

John 12:17 Now the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word.

Let us pray: Father God, may our lives advertise your glory in Jesus name #PastorBasil

Monday 27 January 2020

WORD DIARY: TUESDAY JANUARY 28, 2020

Grace to do well!...

Rom 3:5 But if our unrighteousness brings out God's righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.)

Righteous God! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:6-7 Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world? Someone might argue, "If my falsehood enhances God's truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?"

Judgment belongs to God! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:8 Why not say — as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say — "Let us do evil that good may result"? Their condemnation is deserved.

Grace to do well! #PastorBasil

John 12:16 At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that they had done these things to him.

Let us pray: O Lord, baptize us with the spirit of revelation and insight in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: MONDAY JANUARY 27, 2020

Exploits by faith!...

Rom 3:1-2  What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.

Don’t betray the trust! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:3 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness?

Have faith! #PastorBasil

Rom 3:4 Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge."

Exploits by faith! #PastorBasil

John 12:14-15 Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written, "Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey's colt."

Let us pray: Father God , let that written about us manifest in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY JANUARY 26, 2020

Character is the key!...

Rom 2:25 Circumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, you have become as though you had not been circumcised.

Full obedience! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:26-27 If those who are not circumcised keep the law's requirements, will they not be regarded as though they were circumcised? The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker.

Be a role model! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:28-29 A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical.  No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not  from men, but from God.

Character is the key! #PastorBasil

John 12:12-13 The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,
"Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the King of Israel!"

Let us pray: O Lord, we receive grace to always honor and celebrate you in Jesus name #PastorBasil

Postscript

Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

God, more than earthly manufacturers, created a perfect mankind; and like every manufacturer, He gave the Bible as the manual. As we brush our teeth and eat every day, so much do we need to look into that manual for daily living and thereby prevent a malfunction inherent in seeking our many devices.

These verses and the accompanying nuggets are meant to start you out every day. But you need a personal relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. It will help to contact a bible believing church near you.

Tuesday 21 January 2020

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY JANUARY 22, 2020

Obey God’s word!...

Rom 2:12  All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.

Detest sin! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.

Obey God’s word! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:14-15 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law,  since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.)

Your conscience has the law of God! #PastorBasil

John 12:6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.

Let us pray: Father God, we receive the grace not to betray trust in Jesus name  #PastorBasil

Monday 20 January 2020

WORD DIARY: MONDAY JANUARY 20, 2020

Do well!...

Rom 2:6 God "will give to each person according to what he has done."

Mind what you are doing! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

Do well! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

Follow the truth! #PastorBasil

John 12:3 Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

Let us pray: Father God, we receive the grace for sacrificial giving in Jesus name #PastorBasil

Saturday 18 January 2020

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY JANUARY 19, 2020

Respect the grace of God!...

Rom 2:3 So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?

Mercy of God! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?

Respect the grace of God! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.

Repent! #PastorBasil

John 12:1-2 Six days before the Passover, Jesus arrived at Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. Here a dinner was given in Jesus' honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him.

Let us pray: O Lord, we receive grace to feast at your table in Jesus name #PastorBasil

Don’t judge!...

WORD DIARY: SATURDAY JANUARY 18, 2020

Rom 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

Don’t judge! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:2 Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.

Judgment belongs to God! #PastorBasil

Rom 2:3 So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?

Don’t judge! #PastorBasil

John 11:56-57 They kept looking for Jesus, and as they stood in the temple area they asked one another, "What do you think? Isn't he coming to the Feast at all?" But the chief priests and Pharisees had given orders that if anyone found out where Jesus was, he should report it so that they might arrest him.

Let us pray: Father God, save us from our known and unknown enemies, in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: FRIDAY JANUARY 17, 2020

Guilty as charged?; make amends!...

Rom 1:29  They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips.

Reality check! #PastorBasil

Rom 1:30-31 Slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

Reality check! #PastorBasil

Rom 1:32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Guilty as charged?; make amends! #PastorBasil

John 11:55 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, many went up from the country to Jerusalem for their ceremonial cleansing before the Passover.

Let us pray: O Lord, we thank you for the blood that washes away sin in Jesus name #PastorBasil

Wednesday 15 January 2020

WORD DIARY: THURSDAY JANUARY 16, 2020

Acknowledge God!....

Rom 1:26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.

No pride in shameful passions! #PastorBasil

Rom 1:27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Cause and consequence! #PastorBasil

Rom 1:28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.

Acknowledge God! #PastorBasil

John 11:53-54 So from that day on they plotted to take his life. Therefore Jesus no longer moved about publicly among the Jews. Instead he withdrew to a region near the desert, to a village called Ephraim, where he stayed with his disciples.

Let us pray: O Lord, grant us the wisdom to fulfill our destiny in Jesus name #PastorBasil

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY JANUARY 15, 2020

Truth is constant!...

Rom 1:22-23  Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

Reject all forms of idolatry! #PastorBasil

Rom 1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.

Reject sexual perversion! #PastorBasil

Rom 1:25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator — who is forever praised. Amen.

Truth is constant! #PastorBasil

John 11:51-52  He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one.

Let us pray: O Lord, unite us through your love in Jesus name #PastorBasil

Tuesday 14 January 2020

Awesome God!....

WORD DIARY: TUESDAY JANUARY 14, 2020

Rom 1:19 Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.

Plain truth! #PastorBasil

Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Awesome God! #PastorBasil

Rom 1:21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

All glory to God! #PastorBasil

John 11:49-50 Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up, "You know nothing at all! You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish."

Let us pray: O Lord, grant us wisdom and understanding in Jesus name #PastorBasil
