WORD DIARY: MONDAY JUNE 1, 2020

Grace to confront sin!...

1 Cor 4:21 What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit?

Correct in love!

1 Cor 5:1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife.

Reject sexual perversion!

1 Cor 5:2 And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this?

Grace to confront sin!

John 17:11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name — the name you gave me — so that they may be one as we are one.

Let us pray: O Lord, keep us safe in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. Do you agree that there is no big or small sin?

2. What practical steps will help you live above sin?

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY MAY 31, 2020

Manifest divine power!....

1 Cor 4:18 Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you.

Kill the spirit of pride!

1 Cor 4:19 But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have.

God’s will

1 Cor 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

Manifest divine power!

John 17:10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.

Let us pray: Father God, may our lives glorify you in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. Are there areas where the spirit of pride has crept into your life?

2. What practical steps will help you live in humility?

Postscript
Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

God, more than earthly manufacturers, created a perfect mankind; and like every manufacturer, He gave the Bible as the manual. As we brush our teeth and eat every day, so much do we need to look into that manual for daily living and thereby prevent a malfunction inherent in seeking our many devices.

These verses and the accompanying nuggets are meant to start you out every day. But you need a personal relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. It will help to contact a bible believing church near you.

WORD DIARY: SATURDAY MAY 30, 2020

Divine direction!...

1 Cor 4:15 Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

Respect spiritual authority!

1 Cor 4:16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me.

Be guided!

1 Cor 4:17 For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

Divine direction!

John 17:9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.

Let us pray: O Lord, we thank you for divine intercession in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. Do you accord due respect to spiritual authority?

2. In what areas do you require spiritual guidance?

WORD DIARY: FRIDAY MAY 29, 2020

Grace to pay the price!....

1 Cor 4:11 To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless.

Grace to endure!

1 Cor 4:12 We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it.

Be a good example!

1 Cor 4:13-14 When we are slandered, we answer kindly. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world. I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you, as my dear children.

Grace to pay the price!

John 17:7-8 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

Let us pray: O Lord, we thank you for divine revelation in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. Are there prices you are paying in the service of God?

2. How has the grace of God helped you in making these sacrifices?

WORD DIARY: THURSDAY MAY 28, 2020

Grace for service!....

1 Cor 4:8 Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have become kings — and that without us! How I wish that you really had become kings so that we might be kings with you!

Help others!

1 Cor 4:9 For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men.

Stand strong!

1 Cor 4:10  We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!

Grace for service!

John 17:6 "I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.

Let us pray: O Lord, we thank you for the grace for obedience in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. What challenges do you face in the service of God?

2. In what ways can you overcome these challenges?

WELCOME TO ANOTHER WORKING WEEK!

Yes, due to the public holidays in Nigeria, today is the first working day of the week.
And there is still another holiday on Friday; making this possibly, the shortest working week.

But it does not take God seven days to bless you!

My prayer is that in this two-day window, whether at home, office or business place, the Lord will indeed open the windows of heaven and grant you excess blessings in Jesus name.

WORD DIARY: WEDNESDAY MAY 27, 2020

Don’t jump into conclusions!...

1 Cor 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.

Check your motives!

1 Cor 4:6 Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.

Don’t jump into conclusions!

1 Cor 4:7 For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

Give God the credit!

John 17:5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

Let us pray: Father God, may our lives showcase your glory in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. Do you sometimes exhibit the spirit of pride?

2. How can you remain humble and appreciate the gifts of God?

WORD DIARY: TUESDAY MAY 26, 2020

Don’t get distracted!...

1 Cor 4:1 So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.

Serve Christ!

1 Cor 4:2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

Be reliable!

1 Cor 4:3-4 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.

Don’t get distracted!

John 17:4 I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.

Let us pray: O Lord, may our work bring glory to you in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. Do you agree that distractions can hinder us from being reliable in the service of God?

2. What are some of these diversions and how best can you handle them?

WORD DIARY: MONDAY MAY 25, 2020

All round prosperity!....

1 Cor 3:21 So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours

Boast in the Lord!

1 Cor 3:22 Whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future — all are yours.

All round prosperity!

1 Cor 3:23 And you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

Be in union with Christ!

John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Let us pray: Father God, we receive the grace for a working knowledge of you in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. How well do you access the promise of God for all round prosperity?

2. What are the hindrances to living in physical, material and spiritual
    prosperity? (3John 1:2)

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY MAY 24, 2020

Value the wisdom of God!....

1 Cor 3:17 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

Keep God’s temple!

1 Cor 3:18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise.

Value the wisdom of God!

1 Cor 3:19-20 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness"; and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile."

Don’t trust worldly wisdom!

John 17:2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.

Let us pray: O Lord, we thank you for the gift of eternal life in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. Do you truly value the wisdom of God over worldly wisdom?

                          2. How well do you apply the wisdom of God in your circumstances?

WORD DIARY: SATURDAY MAY 23, 2020

No loss!...

1 Cor 3:14 If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.

Divine reward!

1 Cor 3:15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

No loss!

1 Cor 3:16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

You are God’s temple!

John 17:1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You

Let us pray: O Lord, we give you all the glory in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. As God’s temple, do you corporate with the Spirit of God inside of you?

                          2. How can you increase your consciousness of being a God carrier?

WORD DIARY: FRIDAY MAY 22, 2020

Jesus Christ is the foundation!...

1 Cor 3:10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds.

Put God’s grace to use!

1 Cor 3:11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the foundation!

1 Cor 3:12-13 If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work.

Mind the quality of your work!

John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Let us pray: O Lord, we thank you the assurance of victory in Jesus name

Life questions: 1. How would you rate the quality of your work with God?

                          2. In what ways can you improve on the quality of your work?
