Today is Good Friday. It commemorates the passion of Christ –
His sufferings and crucifixion. He died for all mankind, regardless of creed.
He died a shameful and violent death so that we would not suffer the same fate.
It is thus an anathema to kill in the name of religion.
The self sacrificial death of Jesus is a demonstration of
divine love, which we should imbibe not only at Easter but all through the
year. As we celebrate and make merry, let us remember the real reason and
spirit of the season – love and giving.
