MOVING UP!... PART 3 – THE POWER OF SERVICE!

It has been said that the only thing constant in life is change. And change comes with movement. The movement can be from one place to the other, or from one position to another; it could be a change in perspectives. God expects us to move and make progress in life; and this can even be during dark and challenging times as the world is currently passing through.  After their miraculous freedom and departure from the land of bondage, the Israelites fell into despondency when Moses died. God stepped in and encouraged Joshua to continue the leadership and journey into the promised land.

Just as the Israelites, God is calling us, no matter the circumstance, into new levels of life and experience. We may be going through challenges or enjoying our comfort zones, but change and movement are clear imperatives. God desires that we take new territories and has empowered us to do so. What is required, is the corresponding actions on our part. God said that as much in Deuteronomy 2:24,

“Moses continued, "Then the Lord said, 'Now get moving! Cross the Arnon Gorge. Look, I will hand over to you Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and I will give you his land. Attack him and begin to occupy the land.” (NLT)

And in Revelation 4:1,

“After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this."  (NIV)

We may have moved around particular positions or mountains, but it is indeed time to move forward and enjoy new levels of experience. Our four-part series for the month of March, “Moving Up” focuses on how this movement is possible, based on a relationship with God and the ability to discern correctly. Join us this and every Sunday of the month as we explore this theme.

God bless you.
