WORD DIARY: MONDAY AUGUST 1, 2022

#Activate divine protection!...

Ex 12:21 Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Go at once and select the animals for your families and slaughter the Passover lamb.

#Pay the sacrifice!

Ex 12:22 Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning.

#Activate divine protection!

Ex 12:23 When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.

#Mark of exemption!

Gen 12:6-7 Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY JULY 31, 2022

#No more contamination!...

Ex 12:18 In the first month you are to eat bread made without yeast, from the evening of the fourteenth day until the evening of the twenty-first day.

#Go for purity!

Ex 12:19 For seven days no yeast is to be found in your houses. And anyone, whether foreigner or native-born, who eats anything with yeast in it must be cut off from the community of Israel.

#No more contamination!

Ex 12:20 Eat nothing made with yeast. Wherever you live, you must eat unleavened bread.”

#Mind your consumption!

Gen 12:5 He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.

Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.

God, more than earthly manufacturers, created a perfect mankind; and like every manufacturer, He gave the Bible as the manual. As we brush our teeth and eat every day, so much do we need to look into that manual for daily living and thereby prevent a malfunction inherent in seeking our many devices.

DIVINE PERFECTION!... PART 5 - CONCLUSION

July is of course the seventh month and beginning of the second half of the year. In such games as football, the second half presents an opportunity to strive for excellence, correct the mistakes of the first half, and ultimately try to win the game.

The number seven is very significant and is spiritually regarded as the number of perfection. As the Nelson’s Bible Dictionary defines it, perfection refers to the quality of flawlessness or without error, a state of completion or fulfilment. God’s perfection means that He is complete in Himself. He lacks nothing; He has no flaws. He is perfect in all characteristics of His nature. He is the basis for and standard by which all other perfection is to be measured (Ps 18:30, Matt 5:48). In contrast, man’s perfection is relative and dependent on God for its existence. The good news is that as the coach of a football team wants the best for his team, God is desirous to make perfect all that concerns us. (Ps 138:8 The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. KJV)

The key to attaining this perfection is primarily to leverage on faith in God and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Indeed, Christ came that we may have life and have it more abundantly – the perfect life, the flawless life, the victorious life. His sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary and resurrection reconciled us to God and brought back the fellowship that man lost when Adam sinned. We can now access the promises of God to man – victory, perfection, salvation, deliverance, health, wealth etc.

WORD DIARY: SATURDAY JULY 30, 2022

#Grace to comply!...

Ex 12:15 For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh must be cut off from Israel.

#Grace to abstain!

Ex 12:16 On the first day hold a sacred assembly, and another one on the seventh day. Do no work at all on these days, except to prepare food for everyone to eat; that is all you may do.

#Grace to comply!

Ex 12:17 “Celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread, because it was on this very day that I brought your divisions out of Egypt. Celebrate this day as a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.

Gen 12:4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.

#Divine celebration!...

Ex 12:12 “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord.

#Divine judgment!

Ex 12:13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.

#Divine exemption!

Ex 12:14 “This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord—a lasting ordinance.

Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

#Obey divine instruction!...

Ex 12:8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.

#Divine instruction!

Ex 12:9-10 Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and internal organs. Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it.

#Obey divine instruction!

Ex 12:11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.

Gen 12:2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

Ex 12:5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.

Ex 12:6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.

#Timely sacrifice!

#Make the sacrifice!....

Ex 12:1-2 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.

#New things!

Ex 12:3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household.

#Make the sacrifice!

Ex 11:4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat.

#Make the partnership!

Gen 11:31-32 Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there. Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Harran.

#God of wonders!...

Ex 11:7 But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any person or animal.’ Then you will know that the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.

Ex 11:8 All these officials of yours will come to me, bowing down before me and saying, ‘Go, you and all the people who follow you!’ After that I will leave.” Then Moses, hot with anger, left Pharaoh.

#Enemy surrender!

Ex 11:9 The Lord had said to Moses, “Pharaoh will refuse to listen to you—so that my wonders may be multiplied in Egypt.”

Gen 11:30 Now Sarai was childless because she was not able to conceive.

Ex 11:3(The Lord made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and Moses himself was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh’s officials and by the people.)

Ex 10:24 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go, worship the Lord. Even your women and children may go with you; only leave your flocks and herds behind.”

#Don’t negotiate with the devil!

Ex 10:25 But Moses said, “You must allow us to have sacrifices and burnt offerings to present to the Lord our God.

#Give to God!

Ex 10:26 Our livestock too must go with us; not a hoof is to be left behind. We have to use some of them in worshiping the Lord our God, and until we get there we will not know what we are to use to worship the Lord.”

Ex 10:21 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness spreads over Egypt—darkness that can be felt.”

Ex 10:22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days.

#Divine judgment!

Ex 10:23 No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.

Gen 11:7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”

WORD DIARY: TUESDAY JULY 19, 2022

#West wind of God!..

Ex 10:16-17 Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you. Now forgive my sin once more and pray to the Lord your God to take this deadly plague away from me.”

#Cry for divine mercy!

Ex 10:18-19 Moses then left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord. And the Lord changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which caught up the locusts and carried them into the Red Sea. Not a locust was left anywhere in Egypt.

#West wind of God!

Ex 10:20 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let the Israelites go.

Gen 11:6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.

WORD DIARY: MONDAY JULY 18, 2022

#Beware of devourers!...

Ex 10: 13 So Moses stretched out his staff over Egypt, and the Lord made an east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning the wind had brought the locusts

#East wind of God!

Ex 10:14 They invaded all Egypt and settled down in every area of the country in great numbers. Never before had there been such a plague of locusts, nor will there ever be again.

#Beware of divine judgment!

Ex 10:15 They covered all the ground until it was black. They devoured all that was left after the hail—everything growing in the fields and the fruit on the trees. Nothing green remained on tree or plant in all the land of Egypt.

#Beware of devourers!

Gen 11:5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building.

Let us pray: O Lord, look upon us with mercy in the name of Jesus

WORD DIARY: SUNDAY JULY 17, 2022

#No limits!...

Ex 10:10 Pharaoh said, “The Lord be with you—if I let you go, along with your women and children! Clearly you are bent on evil

#Consider your purpose!

Ex 10:11 No! Have only the men go and worship the Lord, since that’s what you have been asking for.” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh’s presence.

#No limits!

Ex 10:12 And the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over Egypt so that locusts swarm over the land and devour everything growing in the fields, everything left by the hail.”

#Divine punishment!

Gen 11:3-4 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”

Let us pray: Father God, purge us of selfish desires in the name of Jesus

WORD DIARY: SATURDAY JULY 16, 2022

#Give your all to God!...

Ex 10:7 Pharaoh’s officials said to him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the people go, so that they may worship the Lord their God. Do you not yet realize that Egypt is ruined?”

#Don’t turn deaf ears!

Ex 10:8 Then Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship the Lord your God,” he said. “But tell me who will be going.”

#Don’t give in to satanic demands!

Ex 10:9 Moses answered, “We will go with our young and our old, with our sons and our daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival to the Lord.”

#Give your all to God!

Gen 11:2 As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

Ex 10:5 And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:

#Divine devourers!

Ex 10:6 And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.

Ex 10:2 That you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord”

Ex 10:3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me.

Gen 10:31-32 These are the sons of Shem by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations. These are the clans of Noah’s sons, according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.

Ex 9:28 Pray to the Lord, for we have had enough thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don’t have to stay any longer.”

Ex 9:29-30 Moses replied, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the Lord. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the Lord’s. But I know that you and your officials still do not fear the Lord God.”

#Divine confirmation!...

Ex 9:22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that hail will fall all over Egypt—on people and animals and on everything growing in the fields of Egypt.”

#Do it!

Ex 9:23-24 When Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, the Lord sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed down to the ground. So the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt; hail fell and lightning flashed back and forth. It was the worst storm in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation.

#Divine confirmation!

Ex 9:25-26 Throughout Egypt hail struck everything in the fields—both people and animals; it beat down everything growing in the fields and stripped every tree. The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were.

Ex 9:9 It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, and festering boils will break out on people and animals throughout the land.”

Ex 9:10 So they took soot from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses tossed it into the air, and festering boils broke out on people and animals.

Ex 8:29 Moses answered, “As soon as I leave you, I will pray to the Lord, and tomorrow the flies will leave Pharaoh and his officials and his people. Only let Pharaoh be sure that he does not act deceitfully again by not letting the people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”
