LET US READ
“Where there is no
vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he” Proverbs 29:18 KJV
“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” Habakuk 2:1-3 KJV
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart”. Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV
“Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase”. Job 8:7 KJV
ENCOURAGEMENT
Vision in our context is a vivid mental image of a future
goal or objective. It is the ability to see and plan for the future. It is
something we want or are called to achieve. Vision is both a driver and shaper
of life and destiny. It directs and controls the visioner, and would not allow
him to just to anything. A life of vision is like a two-ended tunnel: once you
enter at one end, you must come out at the other end.
At the inception of vision, it may seem very small, but
would later grow. A vision can be personal, corporate, national, global or
trans-generational. No matter the type of vision, you require two key
ingredients: pursuit and vision helpers. You possibly can’t do everything by
yourself! Another thing is that the
pursuit of vision comes with many challenges and opposition. These are the
prices to pay before a vision is achieved. However, the desired goals and
outcomes give the visioner and those that have bought into the vision the grace
to overcome the challenges. Jesus saw the glory of future believers and
received grace to live as a mortal man, subject to the mockery, persecution and
crucifixion on the cross.
Vision can be received in a number of ways: heavenly call as Saul encountered in Acts 9:3-6, 26:19, by association ( Moses had the vision to lead the children of Israel to the promised land, but by association, Joshua fulfilled it) or through a desire to fulfil a need. Majority of visions are received by the last mentioned. There is a need somewhere around you, when you identify and meet that need you become a visioner.
Once you’ve received a vision, the first thing to do, apart from praying about it, is to write it down, no matter how small you think the vision is. It has been said that the longest memory is shorter than the shortest pen. This perhaps explains why you have an architect design your house, before you set out to build. In writing, you also break the vision down in manageable junks of where, how, who, when and what - all pertinent to achievement. Visions, as compared to dreams, are more impactful and purposeful. Putting them in writing means determining where we were, where we are, where we want to be, and finally, how we want to get there.
To make impact in your generation and live a colorful life, it is important to locate your vision and pursue it with all it takes. The world is waiting for your manifestation!
LET US PRAY
O Lord, you created us for signs and wonders, help us to manifest in our generation and beyond in Jesus name
POST SCRIPT
God is a visioner. He saw or envisioned those things that be not and brought them into existence. We have
the nature of God, being created in His image and likeliness. But for us to function in the likeness of God, we must have a personal relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. It will help to contact a bible believing church near you; if you don’t already attend one.
