THE POWER OF DECISION!.. – CONCLUSION – (ANOINTING FOR PRODUCTIVE DECISIONS!)

God created us in His image - Gen 1:27, and in verse 28, he gave us the dominion mandate. It not only commands us to increase and multiply but also to take control of our environment. That dominion mandate is a Power lying within each of us. There is an element of choice to actualise that mandate, but choice is driven by DECISION. To make a decision is to make up your mind about something. To act with decision is to proceed with determination.

The word decision comes from the Latin decidere (“determine”) - which is a combination of two words:  de = ‘off’, caedere = ‘cut’  CUT + OFF = DECISION. To decide means to CUT OFF everything except the things that matter most.  What are the things that matter most to you? What to do you want to achieve in life. This year God is calling us to higher levels of manifestation.

It is generally believed that we have one life to live. But really, there are two lives - the one we live now, and the one we are capable of living. The bridge that connects from one to the other is DECISION. Any time you make a decision, something changes. Good decisions lead to good outcomes, but bad decisions lead to bad outcomes. Even when it looked difficult, Daniel was promoted in a foreign land because he decided not to defile himself with the king’s portion (Dan.1:18-16), and King Jotham became great because he decided to do what was right in the sight of God (2 Chro 27:1-9). The apostle Paul considered himself the least of the apostles, yet he laboured more than those that came before him (1 Cor. 15:9-10). In the process he made such a huge impact on the New Testament church. Similar examples abound in our contemporary world.

The key to making a good decision, ultimately lies in what future we envisage. In this regard, we can draw a great lesson from the life of Jesus as captured in Heb 12:1 -2, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Our four-part series for the month of March, “The Power of Decision”, looks at how we can become more productive and achieve the best results in all areas of life by taking the right decisions. Join us this and every Sunday as we explore the theme.

God bless you.
