THRIVING THROUGH THE DAILY
Mountain peaks & valleys deep are part of the terrain of life. Highs & lows are expected in everyone’s life. But then, there is the plain. Not a plateau, just plain land. Not high, not low, just mundane. It’s called normal, routine & uneventful. Most people don’t live in the mountains or the valleys, they merely visit there. We generally build in the plains. Yes, we like the extra, but we mostly live in the ordinary! That’s our daily!
Many people don’t celebrate their daily! It is not attention catching. Daily is like a model without her makeup! Ahhh! She just looks like one of us! The daily looks like mockery & destiny wastage. It doesn’t glitter! It makes us thirsty for other things out there. Something different. Something more. More action. More visibility. More results. And we envy those in the limelight. They’re ‘chopping life’ & we are not!
The making of desperation
Am sure you know some people who feel like their lives are uneventful. They’ve seen an old school mate post some social media updates. And the ‘simple homemaker’ pulls all stops to have an adventure. That’s the making of a ‘desperate housewife!’ And sometimes, no sooner has she gotten emancipated from her ‘marital shackles’ that ‘real life’ happens. And real life can be very brutal!
For some, it may be the beckon of the freedoms of entrepreneurship. And without visional clarity or training, they walk out of ‘routine’ jobs & ‘zump’ into the business swamp, only to face crocodile like nightmares. It can happen to young pastors, when the urge to be the face of a ‘happening ministry’ gets overwhelming! Some leap without divine leading & soon, the ‘calling’ becomes a curse!
Simple people are still winners
Please help me raise a toast to some unsung heroes before we discuss on how to live through our routine life! Let’s celebrate those quiet people serving to add value to our lives! Here’s just a few;
- the critical care nurse on her job
- the faithful ‘small’ church pastor
- the father who works in construction
- the passionate early child educator
- the bus driver doing his routine route
- the smiling cashier in the checkout line
- the ‘you’ doing your very best to make life work!
- and a million more you can add to this list!
Accept & steward your daily
“Well, whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all for God's glory.” 1 Cor 10:31 (GNT).
Thriving through the daily is possible. It demands that you value your life for its meaning & not its buzz. It takes stewardship mindset. You have to see everything you do as a ‘managing’ Gods grace. It’s fulfillment is in contentment. You’ve got to be grateful for where you are on the way to where you’re going. The daily is scaled up through life goals. Keep setting & achieving purposeful targets. And then, spice your life with love & friendship! Life is sweeter in good company!
And never forget: I believe in ambition too. Ambition with wisdom & balance. And, well, today we are on another subject!
I speak abundance of grace into your life! Peace! Let life answer to you this week! Be the best in whatever you do in Jesus Christ name!
Much Love
PASTOR WISDOM IBE-LAMBERTS
